10U: Another 2-0 Friday Night but wins or losses aside, another positive outing for the girls. We did not share this with them until after the games, but the other team was mostly 6th grade girls……….the girls seemed pretty fired up about winning games vs “big girls”. Looks like we’re going to have a pretty good pitching staff this season (I’m fairly sure I would of struck out against them) and we found a couple more catchers last night…….bats are starting to swing harder…….it’s a process and we’ll be doing our best to pull some aggression out of them…..(yes, it’s OK for girls to be aggressive at the plate!). Congrats to Nat B. who earned “The Bat” for displaying excellent sportsmanship with her teammates…
12U White: Endured their first two losses of the 18/19 campaign. Rumor has it the gir;ls they played drove themselves to the game and dropped their kids off at daycare. Keep battling and Coach Mark will take you all to the Palm on his next anniversary
12U Black: Idle
14U White: Nice double header showing in Kearny in the 17U Ugals league. A tight first game led to the Vipers opening up and winning big in G2. Coaches Ken and Vinny did a great job.
14U Black/16U White: Combined again in an 18U friendly in Colonia, playing another 3 games. Anywhere from 15-18 kids were there throughout the day. All of our pitchers and catchers got their work in, as did our position players. A tremendous amount of talent on the field and in the dugout. “Managing the fall sports commitments allows to get very creative with the rotations…” according to Coach Jerry. “They are really getting along great”. Was nice to have Coach Brian back in the fold after a brief flirtation with retirement.
18U Gold: Practiced Sunday and “got their work in”.
