Winter Practice Schedule/ Viper Den Rules

We hope everyone finished the fall on a good note as we saw tremendous growth and progress at all levels of the Vipers this fall.   This week officially turns to our winter scheduling.

Teams are still encouraged to practice outside, weather permitting.  Usually a week to week thing and field availability is much more open now.  If our coaches see a window of good weather and wish to schedule something, they are empowered to do so.  This can be in replacement or in addition to indoor schedule.   Attendance may vary for additional practices so coaches, please allopw for that.

A best practice here is if coaches combine to practice outside.  There are many things to do and a lot of additional drills can be created with more players.  Again, this is up to each level…contact Bob and Craig with any questions.

The Turf schedule is listed below.  Remember, if a player has a conflict for a particular night or weekend, they can always practice with another Viper team.  This must be pre-arranged and acknowledged by both coaches.

Other items:

  • The turf is clean and vacuumed; nets are up and fixed.  We expect it to be kept that way.
  • Cameras are up and functional throughout the facility
  • No parents in fieldhouse.  There is no seating area and the area near the door is in play often times…parents need to drop off and pick up.   The hamlets of Norwood, Northvale, Old Tappan and Orangeburg offer many shopping opportunities and are beautiful in the winter months.   Take advantage of these shops, cafes and restaurants as much as you can.
  • No gum, seeds or Gatorade in the facility.
  • There is NO FOOD ALLOWED in the facility whatsoever.  We also ask not to discard food, coffee or anything of that nature in the garbage cans.
  • Players and coaches are expected to pick up ALL WATER BOTTLES after practice.
  • Kids should hang bags on wall hooks
  • Shelves will be up for buckets behind big net under the window in the next week or so
  • Shelves will have additional ice packs and first aid kits.
